Effective immediately, Kalona Creamery Shop & Deli will cease lunchtime operations until further notice.  Our regular store hours will remain the same.

For the last year and half, we have offered lunchtime deli services.  We have learned a lot along the way and continue to learn more everyday. We have struggled to make this a profitable piece of the overall business. We will evaluate our services and offerings over the next 6-12 months. This will give us a better feel for what might be successful in the future at our shop located just off of Hwy 1.

Kalona Creamery is a member of the Open Gates Group family of entrepreneurial companies.  One of our guiding principles at Open Gates Group is to think like an entrepreneur. It is this spirit that drove us to open the deli in the beginning. However, we are also focused on the bottom line and when an entity or piece of business is not profitable, difficult 

decisions have to be made. 

That all said, this change allows our team to focus heavily on our cheese curd production. We will be launching cheese curds on August 11, 2018, and hope to see you at our party! Get more details.
