Yellow River Dairy, located in Monona, Iowa, is a small farm near the Yellow River and Yellow River State Forest. That’s where they got their name! We carry multiple flavors of this Iowa goat cheese in our shop including: sharp cheddar, mild cheddar, feta, basil feta, red pepper feta and mozzarella.

Goat cheese, or Chevre in French, is a popular choice for those looking for a bold, tart and tangy flavor.  It is available in multiple textures including: soft, semi-soft, hard and firm. Goat cheese has a distinctive aroma and flavor which increases through the aging process and moisture content. Goat cheese is commonly used on bruschetta, pizza or in dessert recipes! Iowa goat cheese is our favorite. It’s local and like most, delicious!

What’s the difference between cow and goat cheese?

Like cow’s milk, goat’s milk makes delicious cheese! According to Prevention.com, goat’s milk has lower levels of lactose, making goat cheese popular with people who are lactose intolerant.
