Products: Flax-Fed Beef Snack Sticks, Summer Sausage, Jerky
Location: Osceola, IA
About: In 2006 Peter & Cindy Woltz started Timber Ridge Cattle Co. in Osceola, Iowa and devoted a significant proportion of the operation to the production of a more healthy beef product both in terms of the cattle and the meat. They choose to smoke the meat at a low heat to deliver high Omega-3 beef to the consumer. Exposure to high heat will covert healthy fats into trans-fats. The meat they use in their products is trimmed to 90% lean. The sticks and summer sausage contain no MSG or sodium nitrite, so they do require refrigeration. They processed their meat at a small family-owned federally inspected facility that handles on average 5-6 head per day!

Products: Different ages and various flavors of Gouda cheese.
Location: Leighton, IA
About: Mike Bandstra grew up on a small dairy farm south of Pella. While Mike was in high school, his dad sold the cows after their family farm was annexed into the city. To his surprise, Mike soon missed the cows. He changed his college major from Accounting to Dairy Science and, after graduating from Iowa State University, took a job with Horizon Organic Dairy in Maryland as a herd manager. Mike’s brother, Jason, also developed the desire to get back into dairying. Jason bought some bottle calves, grew the herd, and started milking. Mike moved back to Iowa and joined Frisian Farms with Jason. The brothers soon dreamt of a way to add value to the dairy…making cheese. Influenced by their Dutch heritage and community, Gouda seemed to be the perfect choice. Gouda is a semi-hard cheese named after a Dutch town in the province of South-Holland, and accounts for more than 60% of the cheese produced in the Netherlands. They were quick to learn that the cheese making process is both an art and a science. In order to make Frisian Farms Gouda in the proper Dutch fashion, they invited a Dutch cheesemaker to their farm to teach them techniques that would produce a cheese that reflects the perfection of a process that developed over hundreds of years. After six years of making cheese, the processing and storage areas were outgrown. This presented an opportunity to move the cheese facilities to a more convenient location, and in 2015 the Frisian Farms Cheese House was built.
Products: Chevre (soft goat cheese)
Location: Honey Creek, Iowa
About: Our passions are goats and fresh, exquisite products. Honey Creek Creamery is a farmstead operation run by our family. We purchased George's great grandfather's century farm established in 1891 and moved back to Iowa in 1999. Goats have been our companions for over 20 years --- mainly for hiking and comic relief. Sharon formerly worked in Community Development for the Federal Reserve. In 2006, she made an easy decision to stop traveling, spend time with her daughter and be on the farm to make the most of their life in the Loess Hills. Sharon became a certified artisan cheese maker in 2009 through a course at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Our bunkhouse, built in 1911, was renovated into the processing center and milk parlor and the dairy was off and running as of August 30, 2010. The goats live a charmed life --- they freely roam and browse the hills and are guarded by our sweet Great Pyrenees dog, Tucker, who stays by their sides day and night. We are committed to good environmental practices from feeding organic alfalfa, maintaining clean barns and processing rooms and taking daily goat hikes to ensure goats are healthy.

Products: Ready to Eat popcorn, Microwave Popcorn and Unpopped Kernels.
Location: Shellsburg, Iowa
About: Tiny But Mighty Popcorn is an ancient heirloom that's outrageously delicious. This will change the way you think about popcorn forever! Our tiny heirloom ears grow to be about 3" when fully mature and produce kernels that are about half the size of regular popcorn, which means a more dense, flavorful popcorn and an extremely thin outer hull, which virtually disintegrates when popped. About 1/3 of our customers are those with Diverticulitis, Crohn's or IBS who are thrilled they're able to enjoy their favorite snack once again. Our popcorn's thin hulls also mean you won't get those sharp, annoying shells stuck in your teeth! We offer Unpopped Kernels, Ready To Eat (Kettle, Butter, Sea Salt) and Microwave (Butter, Light Butter, Kettle). All of our products are non-GMO, gluten free, kosher & loaded with fiber. Try Tiny But Mighty Popcorn today, and see why smaller is better when it comes to popcorn!

Our milk comes from small, sustainable farms with average herds of 35 cows. We process the milk at the lowest temperature possible, allowing us to deliver our products in their most natural state.
